For a Wally Lamb book I was disappointed. This book centers around the Oh family I found the synopsis for this book a bit misleading. It didn't really seem like the story was about Annie remarrying a woman and her family's reaction. The story felt more about Annie's tragic past. I'm starting to feel like Wally Lamb puts a few key things in every single book he writes no matter what. Twins, Italians, sexual assault, regular assault, especially violence against women, substance abuse, abusive parents, absentee parents. Every single book I've read by Wally Lamb deals with rape. I know it's a issue, but I'm wondering if he has some fixation on it. All in all this was an ok read. I'd recommend it for book clubs.
