Post apocalyptic fiction usually isn't my favorite genre, but I really liked this books. One of the first things I really appreciated was the hopeful trying to preserve aspect. Although there were harsher aspects of the new world it wasn't all walking in the snow starving to death, like say the the road was.
Probably the only thing keeping this from a five star for me was the cloud atlas everything is connected feel. Which I sort of liked, but also felt was a bit confusing at times. It also had a very open ending, which I know some people hate, but I'm cool with.
I recommend this for people looking for a not so depressing/tedious take on the apocalypse.
