I've read one other Jodi Picoult book and this author is not for me. I felt it was too early in the year to have a dnf or this book would have been one. So needless to say I had a lot of problems with this book. Mostly the parents maybe I'm naive, but I can't imagine that no one would have called the mother out on here flagrant disregard for Jesse and Anna. Also this may fall under me being nit picking, but I'm suppose to believe that a stay at home home of sixteen years that has a daughter with cancer has all the law credintals up to date? Campbell and Janets's romance seemed forced and inexplicable to me. I hate that while trope of adults in their 30's pining over teenage lovers. I'm 34 and pretty much never spair a thought on my teenage boyfriends let alone moon over them.
[/spoiler] The plot twist of Kate asking Anna not to donate the kidney was glaringly obvious.
Over all I really didn't like this book or is attempt at emotionally manipulation.
